It is misleading to use the word "faster" to refer to rowing at a higher stroke rate. Usually it would mean the speed of a boat through the water. On the erg it would be the virtual speed of the virtual boat. Of course, if a certain work/stroke is maintained, then - yes - a higher rate results in a faster boat.macher wrote:He was rowing a lot faster than me. And, if you will please excuse my pedantry here, notice that I used work/stroke - not power/stroke. That would not mean anything and it brings back memories of the much maligned and unfortunately misnamed Stroke Power Index aka SPI - which shall live in infamy.
