No change, everything is the same as last week.nteeman wrote:WIOTW--152lbs. No change but weight pretty steady all week. I may be near my ideal weight so I'm not going to make myself crazy, just sticking to my routine.
EDIT: put some new batteries in my Tanita scale and measured a 17.8% bodyfat reading.

WIOTW for 6-17-2006
157.4lbs 15.7% bodyfat
This was my best so far since I started using the Tanita scale. I must admit that for some reason I can't explain my results are slightly better on the weekend than on a week day. Friday night's results were 160.0lbs at 16.6%.
Both were taken around the same time of day (5:30pm).

great going
Keep up the good work! I've stopped logging my weight loss, because I'm not loosing, but not gaining. It's fun to see how others are doing, so don't stop posting. I'm back on the diet, and it seems much easier this go round. So, as of today I'm 201, down from 240 about a year ago. You are doing great! I've got to try one of those special scales.

Tanita makes a line of scales that will give you a very accurate weight reading as well as the % bodyfat. You need to make a setting for yourself entering your height, gender, and on some models your age as well. Some models will give you more information such as % hydration, muscle mass and other things. Models vary from $50 to $130.jbell wrote:What exactly is the tanita scale if you dont mind me asking?

Hi,
I bought a Concept II model C last October via Ebay. It sat on my porch until December, when I started and haven't stopped except for the month of April, when I moved from Wisconsin to Rhode Island.
I weighed 298 lbs in Dec. and am now down to 252.
I think the precipitous weight loss has ended and now is the point where diet and the right erg. program will start to pay more dividends.
I'm usually doing 10k every other day and posting times around 40 mins. I almost broke 39 mins on Monday...so I'm getting there.
This site is great and the tips on diet/routine are awesome. Kudos to all you guys who are "already there." I'm on my way, one stroke at a time!

Welcome and good luck. I have found that the combination of diet and exercise has helped me lose the weight I wanted to lose. I want to get down to 150 and am finding these last 6 pounds to be very difficult.
Still, I have lost over 30Lbs. and am happy with my progress. Avoiding processed foods, especially white flour foods, was the key for me. I don't row to break any speed records but follow the method of Dr. Philip Maffetone--monitoring my heart rate and keeping it below the anaerobic threshold.
I look forward to see your progress.
Again, good luck,
