My New Erg Adventure for Weight Loss and Health!
Re: My New Erg Adventure for Weight Loss and Health!
Well I'm checking in - been working long hours at work due to the devastating wild fires in here in California (I work for the power company here as an Electrical Designer). Had to skip a few BPP workouts unfortunately but glad that I'll be able to at least complete this weeks minimal requirements! Did a 10k this morning and improved on my PB.
Haven't lost any more weight but my clothes are much looser and I've been getting some compliments here and there!
@Paul - thank you for the kind words sir! Let's keep it up!
Cheers,

hey,
i enjoy following your posts.
a lot of what you are writing seems to have happen to me as well.
i struggle with my weight lose, i have the work and family issues as well, but most of all, i give up to things that are related to my motivation.
i started my journey with 84Kg, im now 71Kg, 18% body fat.
my body weight is not getting any lower then 69Kg at best and that was in August..
i added some weight training but it looks like i cannot lose more weight.. the only difference i see is from 22% body fat 4 months ago to 18% now.

Thank you Edinborogh! Weight training of course will grow muscle so you may not be losing weight per se, but you BMI is going down and that's what counts!edinborogh wrote:hey,

I had a couple of downer weeks the last two so needless to say it's tough to get back into a good routine.
For my weight loss so far, it's gone down to 285 but I'm back up a little. It's all my own fault - I'm putting the wrong food items in my mouth!
I'm looking into a vegan diet, but definitely not sure about it. One of the guys at work is changing to a more plant-based diet and it is working wonders for him.
Too early to commit to something like that; I am definitely an omnivore.
Re: My New Erg Adventure for Weight Loss and Health!
Hello All:
Wanted to put a final post on this thread and wish all of you a Happy New Year 2018!!! I just finished the Beginner Pete Plan week 24 this week - modified it to just one half marathon workout. I needed roughly the same amount of the HM to get to 200k for the Holiday Challenge and happened to hit my first million meters at the same time!
That workout killed me - I thought I was going to die by the end and was just relieved to get it done. Back was sore for a couple of days so my technique may be slightly off or maybe it was the simple fact that that distance is twice what I've completed in one piece. I took constant breaks and did house chores while doing it so it took 4 hours but felt good that I had a clean place to entertain that night plus I got the longest row of my life done!
I also decided to repeat the BPP starting January 1 - I completed most of the 5 weekly workouts but fell short a couple of times so the goal this round will be to try improve on each comparable workout from 2017 and complete every single workout. May start up the Pete Plan if I decide to travel to Boston in 2019 but that is a ways away.
For my weight loss, I haven't been talking about it because I haven't lost much since the initial drop to 285. I'm still hovering around there. Started trying to get into a plant-based diet at least 5 days per week and that went pretty good until the holidays hehe. I'll be focusing on this nutrition change starting week 1 in January along with the BPP redux.
Probably won't post much to this thread anymore but I have just started my rowing adventure and don't intend on quitting until all arms and legs fall off so I will see you all around! If you want to be a training partner online let me know, I don't really know how it works but if it helps us out I'm all for it!
Here's to a GREAT 2018!!! Happy New Year!!!

Turn the page and back on the erg!
You plan to revisit the BPP with new goals seems like a good one and your resolve to change your eating habits of course can change your life.
best of luck and we will be watching your "journey" for '18

First of all, congratulations on completing the 24 week, BPP. That is quite an accomplishment. I was very proud of myself when I completed the program, so I know you are as well. I am on week 11 of my second time through, so I understand you wanting to do it again. As far as weight loss, I know all too well about not seeing the results that I was hoping for. I stared doing intermittent fasting a couple of months ago. It sounds much more difficult than it actually is, and I have see fantastic results. I just wanted to throw that out there in case you might be looking for a way to restart some more fat/weight loss. I did not buy anything, change anything I was eating (mostly good stuff), or have to make any changes to my lifestyle. I simply started eating in a certain window of the day, consistently. There is plenty of info on YouTube about it, so check it out if you are looking for something new. Congrats again on your achievement.
