Problem as almost always, beginners, both groups lost weight and fat. So in energy deficit. Very difficult to get long term results in.

And it was a very small group, it's a shame that these studies seem to have so few subjects, but I suppose that is expensive. Perhaps they could get a gym chain involved, and then pick up a few hundred 'trained' subjects, across the whole chain who they can split into two groups plus a control.

Very very difficult, training related is often short, not well trained etc. And be honoust, why would a well trained sportsman who has his own goals work with something like this? Let alone top athletes.

Untrained people react pretty ok on any training. Nomatter what they do else.

You are right Henry, you are never going to get good/elite athletes to 'try something', I was thinking about people like me, I'm not overweight or unfit, I'm certainly not at the top of my potential but I'm a lot closer than those subjects sounded. At my gym I can think of a few guys who fit into my category, with enough of us (hence the gym chain) you could run a trial with a control and perhaps have a more significant result, than controlling your diet and exercising causes weight loss and makes you stronger...
