Problem as almost always, beginners, both groups lost weight and fat. So in energy deficit. Very difficult to get long term results in.skiffrace wrote:http://jssm.org/2jssm-15-578.xml

And it was a very small group, it's a shame that these studies seem to have so few subjects, but I suppose that is expensive. Perhaps they could get a gym chain involved, and then pick up a few hundred 'trained' subjects, across the whole chain who they can split into two groups plus a control.

Very very difficult, training related is often short, not well trained etc. And be honoust, why would a well trained sportsman who has his own goals work with something like this? Let alone top athletes.Pie Man wrote:And it was a very small group, it's a shame that these studies seem to have so few subjects, but I suppose that is expensive. Untrained people react pretty ok on any training. Nomatter what they do else.

You are right Henry, you are never going to get good/elite athletes to 'try something', I was thinking about people like me, I'm not overweight or unfit, I'm certainly not at the top of my potential but I'm a lot closer than those subjects sounded. At my gym I can think of a few guys who fit into my category, with enough of us (hence the gym chain) you could run a trial with a control and perhaps have a more significant result, than controlling your diet and exercising causes weight loss and makes you stronger...
