5000m vs Sets of 500m

Post by stin » December 2nd, 2013, 12:20 am

Hi guys

Im trying to lose weight and starting to incorporate rowing into the program.

I intend to row three times a week.

Given that diet plan and lifting are already in place, would 5000m row OR sets of 500m with 2min break in between be more effective for fat loss.

Thanks.

With weight loss you do want long duration as you are looking to burn calories with intensity over time. If you plan on doing 500M X 10 vs 5000 meters, you can build your intensity that way. Honestly I would recommend mixing it up and doing both. A straight up 5k improves your endurance, and the intervals improve your ability to row faster. Either one is good for burning calories. You would probably burn a bit more with 500 X 10 as it will take longer and you will be able to maintain higher intensity over the periods.

Does not matter much, its mostly about the volume you do, th more meters the better, number one will be your eating. Thst needs to be priority.

Read it some time ago but it is TRUE!

You make your muscles in the GYM

You make your body in the FOOD PREPARATION AREA

sets of 500m is starting point where in you should perform for the 1st week or so then slowly you can lift the bar and take your entire quota to 5000m that is when you find all the hard work coming into equation and that will give you the best results possible try it
