Are there any iPhone applications out there that allow us to log our times and put in a workout schedule?

Lots of simple ones

But nothing that syncs with the Concept 2 online logbook that I am aware of.

I purchased iFitness for $1.99. It does allow you to log rowing details, plus just about any other fitness activity you could imagine. And you can email yourself the log details. It does not have any scheduling capability that I have seen.

Hi,
I'm a software developer with an interest in rowing on the concept2 and I have considered creating an iPhone app specifically to help my training. Have you any features that you would like in an app like this so I can hopefully make it more generally useful?

Cheers,

Concept2 online personal log data:

• Most recent row statistics (date/time, distance, time) + calories
• YTD meters
• Current challenge ranking (team or individual)
• Ranked workouts

Didn't see this but only a couple of days ago I sent an e-mail to Concept 2 suggesting they incorporate bluetooth into the next Performance Monitor.

Your mobile phone is now powerfull enough to run various applications and obtain all the information it needs to do so from the PM.

With internet connection it could also connect into the RowPro server and you could race online via your phone. This would be a great innovation for anyone who doesn't actually own a Concept 2 rower, you could go to the Gym and use theirs or use the bluetooth to race the person besides you at the gym. Your complete rowing log and results could be kept on your phone instead of the log card. The possibilities with the current technology available is endless.

I wrote an app for the iPhone, ErgCalc, available from iTunes from iTunes. (website: http://www.ergcalculator.com).

The app helps you calculate splits, times, distances, predicted results (if you want to know how your 2K would relate to a 6K, or a 250m). I recently added per-stroke statistics, such as SPI, DPS, and weight adjustments.

The next version will allow storing workouts, in the app and through email. I'm hoping to be able to store workouts in the C2 log, but I'm not sure if they'll allow that!

Would love to hear suggestions for more features! I plan to submit the next version (with workout log) at the end of this week.

I have recently created an iphone app which provides integration with the C2 Logbook.
It currently only allows you to view your logbook, but look for an update shortly that will allow you to add your workouts as well.

You can find it in iTunes by searching for ergLog (or here

Hey Glidegirl -

Just open up and log into your online Concept2 logbook web page using safari. Then click the "+" at the bottom of the page and select "Add to Home Screen" and voila - you now have an "app" to log your times! You don't need to buy any apps!

I'm going to try a $1.99 one

It's suppose to link up with logbook and everything.

Has anyone used the update that is suppose to fix some of the early problems?

Thanks

GoRow certainly performs a full sync of your log with the concept2.com online log, you can just enter workouts on the phone or online, tap Sync and it all gets stored online & on your phone.
You can then analyse the workout data is various ways using the Analysis section to produce charts & summaries.

I have just added an update to ErgCalc to include that functionality. It's under review by Apple.

It's delighting to see so many choices of apps for this particular purpose.

Do any of the iPhone apps actually give you a program to follow? Or do they just act as a log? I'm looking for something that gives me a specific, daily program to follow.

GoRow does allow you to plan workouts to be done in the future and there are online workout planners available at Concept2.co.uk and at Petes Lunch Hour Plan.
Using GoRow you would plan your workout programme using one of the online planners and then enter the workouts that need to be done into GoRow.
As you perform the workouts, you complete the information in GoRow, at which point you can analyse how well you're doing using the graphs & targets.
For links to the workout planners, see:
