I have had a model c for many years and just invested in a pm5 after many years of free rowing due to dead pm2. I now want to take full advantage of apps that are out there so which would be the best free app to run on an iPad?
Not looking for anything that is really fancy but I do like looking at stats etc.

It has all the free software waiting for your mind to unlock.

Your best bet is probably Concept2's ErgData. Unless you buy the attachment cable you'll have to update the PM5 firmware (currently version 17) to use Bluetooth.
