You have to feel sorry for small software developers like Digital rowing.
How long did an OS use to last in the market ? everything is now changing so fast you cannot hope to keep up with it and time is going into compatibility issues instead of just making RowPro a better product.
Only just changed from XP to Windows 8 so will be in no rush for Windows 10. Oh well at least it's free, time to make the money on the Apps and just make the OS part of the hardware.
PS What happened to Windows 9 ? Microsoft going so fast they didn't even have time to release it before moving on to the next version ?

Their marketing dept. decided to catch up with Apple's OSX version number.

Oh I see by catching up and the possibility of going past they must have a more advanced product ? does that mean that Windows 11 is only a matter of months away ?
Got to love marketing. Still its the fault of the people these days thinking newer is better and you have to have the latest of everything.
Companies have figured out how to double their profits, just bring out the new version twice as fast.

I worked for IBM for twenty years, you are not wrong.

I just installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview. I ran RowPro, though not connected the PM4 and actually rowed, but program seemed to function. I just wonder if the Windows 10 Technical Preview actually is only a shell covering the Windows 7 core?

Wouldn't surprise as most of Microsoft is a "spell" cast on Atari and Rising Star. Jack

As far as I'm aware no issues on RowPro 4.3, I know someone using it on a Mac with Windows 10 and its okay.
Will stay with Windows 8.1 myself, it works fine and only moved to this because RowPro didn't work on XP or I would still be using that. Will wait for Windows 14 to come out, obviously will not want to try Windows 13.

Why there is no Windows 9: Windows XP was a huge change over previous versions of Windows, and many programs needed to change to accommodate it. However, most of the world was still running Windows 95 or Windows 98, and the programs running on them were still being supported. Many programmers approached this by checking the version of Windows, and implementing logic: "If the windows version starts with 'Windows 9', do things the old way. Otherwise, do things the new way". Microsoft was afraid that too much of that software is still out there running, and would be broken by releasing Windows 9. So they decided to jump from 8 to 10.

I believe it was marketing to align itself with Mac, otherwise if you have version 9 and someone else has 10 you appear to "Be behind" in the Game.
Still not sure why all the focus on Mac, look it up its such a tiny market in terms of an OS, like 7 or 8% of the market.
The future is in the mobile market and I understand that Android has 83% of the market share. The future is clear, RowPro needs an Android App.
Just purchased a Sony Smart TV, guess what its Android. The TV has 5G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so its a no brainer, just get full Bluetooth in the PM5 monitor (Better still Concept 2, just make a black box option down at the tach pickup with Bluetooth, no "monitor" required with one green LED for power and one blue LED for Bluetooth connected and reset or manual power up button) and your away with a totally wireless setup. TV on the wall and the rower in front of it. Sit on the rower with the TV remote control and press the "Row" button when your ready to start.
Awesome.
