Any early-morning EST rowers out there?

Post by Shepherd » May 31st, 2007, 9:55 am

EST=Eastern Standard Time, not the thing where some guy in a nehru jacket yells at you about your life for two days.

I row 10km at 6 a.m. (11 a.m. GMT) pretty much like clockwork on Tuesdays and Thursdays; usually between 2:03 and 2:06 (best time ever was 1:58, and 2:06+ is a really bad day).

I'm looking for a way to push myself a bit, maybe, or have somebody "waiting on me" to get my butt down the stairs when motivation is low.

I've messed around with RowPro and Internet rowing in the past, but never with much success -- it's been over a year, though. If the service is up and reliable, is there anyone in my time-of-day and pace range that might be interested in a thrice-weekly meet-up?

I typically crawl onto my erg around 5:15 or 5:20 am EDT (I'm in Maine). I would be interested in setting up a few online rows. I used RowPro all the time. I will set up a couple online 10 km sessions next week. I generally row my easy sessions around 2:00 pace. Typically with an early morning 10k I row relatively easy for the first 5 minutes, then pick up the pace.

Shepherd,
I'd be interested in doing a 10K with you at 11GMT each day?

I'll row around 1:57 - 2:00 at the mo.

I'll post a few races on Oarbits, let us know if you're interested.

Cheers
Graeme.
