Brand new to rowing and this forum, so please don't flame this rank newbie if this is a stupid question.

I just learned how to use the ErgData app and I like the "real time" function to row with other humans. So my question: are there other 3rd party apps that will link with a PM5 that are popular? I'm looking to compete with others and/or row in a virtual environment. Would prefer a free app, but willing to pay if something is worth it. Thank you.

Lots of variety depending on what you like for format, price, etc.

I personally like EXR, which is quite active in development: see exrgame.com

They offer a virtual environment where you can race and row in groups. Currently there are 3 weekly official group rows, and anothe 4 or 5 unifficial (you can see them announced via the discord server).

For the roadmap for 2024, you can look at https://exrgame.com/blog/exr-roadmap , they have a monthly feature update where things get released, normally on the first monday of the month.
