Inconsistent heart rate

Hi, I find that average HR data is inconsistent.
For example, take a look at the data of a 2x2000 interval session from ERG Data (it's in Italian but I think it's clear anyway):

Interval 1 --> Avg HR 156

Interval 2 --> Avg HR 160

These heart rates are consistent with the raw data I see from the CSV file. So I would expect the average HR for the whole session to be around 158.

Here comes the first issue: interval table still from ERG Data. Average heart rates for the single intervals and for the whole workout are completely different (and wrong):

Here comes the web logbook. Heart rates for the single intervals and the whole session are the same as ERG Data (the wrong ones):

Am I missing something? Thanks

With non-interval sessions I find a different issue.

Average HR from ERG Data (154) is consistent with the raw data from the CSV (but the split data, not shown in the picture, are wrong):

Avg HRs from the web logbook (both for splits and for the whole session) are wrong:

I realized now that the heart rates in the intervals/splits table (both in ERG Data and on the logbook) are not averages, but the heart rate at the end of the interval/split. I don't know if that's intentional or a bug (in my opinion showing the average would make more sense).
What clearly doesn't make sense is the heart rate shown in the logbook for the whole session, which is not the average HR during the session, but the average of the heart rates at the end of each interval/split

I never pay much attention to those HR figures, as I use the free Polar Beat app (I don't have a Polar HRM, so don't worry if you don't have a Polar). That app shows a graph, an average, a max HR and time within specific zones.

That might be a better option for you too?

You've answered your own questions here - its a "feature" not a bug as such. This is exactly how the PM records HR, just the last number of the split. And the Avg is just the avg of those last numbers - so pretty meaningless. The numbers in the Ergdata graphs however are what's really going on (within the accuracy of the belt transmitter anyway) so that's really what you need to look at and ignore the other numbers. The important info is MaxHR as any training based on HR uses HR caps, so averages dont tell you anything anyway.
