ergData / iOS 16 missing data

Another day, another bug.

I've reported this to Apple but the more people who do the better. Basically Fitness / Health isn't recording distance now. Even if you manually add data an choose rowing there is no distance field.

So if you go into Fitness and have a look at your last work out it will just have time and calories on it. If you have any apps where you post distance to (i.e. The Conqueror, etc.) then this won't work.

Just thought people should be aware.

Overall I'd say don't upgrade to iOS 16.

IOS 16 / Latest App Issues

Hi

I've posted this elsewhere on the forums but I missed this forum so I'll post here:

I'm running the latest everything, which is a massive mistake I grant you but the following are issues:
  • The app is not allowing the workout to be saved at the end of the workout. I can not enter the menu to disconnect. The rest of the menus work fine. A restart of the phone prior to the workout sometimes solves it but not always. To reproduce I setup a workout with a distance (i.e. 10k) then row. The rest of the app runs fine and I can flick between information screens but I can't access the save menu. The only way out is to hard close the app and then nothing is saved which is very frustrating.
  • On the odd occasion the app actually works, distance in fitness is not being recorded. I've looked under health and rowing and there is no distance so I've reported this to Apple as well just in case it's not your App
If you could have a look at these issues please. It's very frustrating when trying to partake in the Challenges when I have to enter everything manually.

Thanks.

I have the same issue but I have one day of record after I update to IOS 16. it's more like the app update(2.0.12) caused this issue. my last sucessful logged workout is on 9/14

I reinstalled ErgData it did not solve the issue

Just wanted to chime in saying, I've seen a similar issue. New phone on Friday, with iOS 16. Used ErgData on Saturday with no issue. Data synced and app was fine.

Used it again today, at the end of the workout the throbber covered the screen (like it has before), took a while then disappeared. I couldn't hit the menu button to disconnect. Tried to exit/enter the app and disable Bluetooth, still stuck. Killed the app, and lost my workout.

My wife, new iOS 16 phone as well, worked out today and at the end of her workout saw a message that said "Unable to log 'something'(?). Cancel/Retry" She hit retry once, and then it dropped back into the ErgData display and the menu button wouldn't respond. She lost her workout as well.

Transferred them via USB Logbook, but sucks to have lost the extra data (and the Apple Health data).

Hi Macca, I don't have the solution, but I have the exact same problem, so just adding my frustration to the discussion in the hope someone finds the fix.

Guys. looks like this is a wildly reproduce-able bug. Please click "Contant" button on their home page and submit a a ticket to them. We need let them know about this bug asap

I'm having issues too and have contacted Concept2 - another thing I've noticed is that logbook entries made transferring workouts from the PM5 by USB drive and the Concept2 Utility (which is the workaround when ergdata hangs) are no longer syncing/uploading to Apple Health - I received a quick reply saying they're working on an update to address to address the issues with "specific versions of the PM5 monitor when paired with ErgData on an iPhone running iOS 16" and are hoping to release something next week.

Got their reply today from Nathan. They are aware this issue and work on a fix should release next week.

2.0.13 came out yesterday
I did a WOD on the rower today and it was still messed up, showed 16million meters for some of the intervals.
Logged a case and was told it was just a corrupted workout. I am on IOS 16 so this is the issue. My Skierg WOD yesterday had a similar issue.

I hit something like this for the first time today. On ending the workout from ergdata on ios the working spinner spun for about a minute then went away. I was stuck on the 'in workout' graphs view with everything showing zero. After killing the app and reopening nothing made it to the log. :|

Hope it doesn't happen again!

Hi

Just to update everyone. Concept2, via email, passed on a new firmware update for the RowERG and SkiERG. I have tested the RowERG this morning (I got the updates installed last night - the only frustrating thing was finding the right cable to update them!) anyway this morning it was fine but time will tell.

I only have one outstanding bug, but I believe this is with Apple, and that is the distances are no longer recorded in Fitness. When I looked manually in Health rowing doesn't have a distance field so, I believe, they've messed it up.

Thanks for everyones input.
