iPad apps

Post by mike2468 » June 19th, 2022, 7:30 am

It's been a little while since I used my rowing machine. When I last used it I was using the RowPro app on a windows machine. I don't have a spare PC anymore so thought I'd use my iPad but the RowPro app looks like it's been written by a beginner. It doesn't have all the functionality of the main app and the graphics are dreadful.

What are the alternatives? I quite like the functionality of a pace boat, but nothing seems to offer this, or am I not looking hard enough? What do other people use for their iPad?

I saw this one rowing app on the store called ErgDude which lets you control this character on screen that rows as you do. Supports the C2 as well. I didn't try it myself but maybe you'd want to. But it might not be exactly what you're looking for to be fair.

FWIW Maybe try the ergdata beta. There's a youtube video on it, but I didn't look.

I contacted Concept2 support about a little issue I'm having with the ERGData app and also asked if they'll consider making a ERGData app for the Apple Watch.

They said a new ERGData app update with plenty new features and improvements will be coming in a few months.
They said the new ERGData app will support Apple health kit, so ERGData workouts will sync to Apple workouts and count towards daily Apple activity rings.

They also told me they are currently working on a way to allow users to use Apple Watch for heartrate monitoring, but it doesn't sound like they are planning a dedicated Apple Watch app for now.
