ergdata in the background

Can Ergdata continue to run in the background? I can't seem to do that. I usually watch my HR on MyWorkouts because I love their display, but Ergdata doesn't capture the workout if I do that, and saving it off after the fact only yields summary data.

I previously tested it on iOS and it seemed to keep logging the workout while I had another app active. I didn't test for a whole workout though, so it might not work over a longer period. The test was to run Netflix in the foreground, but maybe there is something unique about the HR app that takes full focus.

Didn't work for me when I tried another App that required Wi-Fi.

I wanted to use ErgData and Zwift Companion on the same device.

Old phone however, who knows if you use a much newer and faster phone.

It doesn´t work with ErgData, but it works with PainSled. I use it every day running Zwift Companion App while PainSled is working in the background. Works absolutely flawless on iPhone. Maybe it´s an option for you too.

The end result is you need multiple devices.

It pays to keep your old phone when you upgrade like I did, pull the SIMM card and it turns into a small note that still has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and it can just run single Apps like ErgData, RowedBiker etc.

Absolutely! Old devices can be very handy.

Maybe PainSled is an option for @nates nonetheless. If he doesn´t need verification and some other features of ErgData it would work. It syncs with the C2 logbook and shows most of the data that ErgData provides.

Yeah, I can completely live without verification of my 2:45/500 times trying to stay inside UT2. Nothing that needs to be certified now or probably ever. The only competition I care about is this 52yo 30lb overweight dad trying to stay ahead of my 9yo as long as physically possible. I think this may be the year he's faster than me running. I can still beat him on level ground straight away, but if he's dodging and weaving or going downhill he's hard to catch.
