So I needed to replace my PM5. Is there a way restore my workouts from the log book to the PM5? I also use Ergdata. Thanks. Not a big deal really but, it would be nice.

It's not possible.
Make sure everything has been logged to
https://log.concept2.com with Ergdata (or a USB stick for the folks without a smartphone).

Wouldn't bother if if you could.
I will be factory default resetting my PM5 at the beginning of every season on the 1st May anyway.
ErgData is the best for your LogBook and just Sync this with your C2 online logbook for a permanent record.

Just out of curiosity, what's the benefit of resetting your PM5 to factory default every season?
For long-term (i.e., multiyear) warranty/maintenance/resale/part replacement issues, wouldn't it be advantageous to have the full lifetime record of a machine instead of only the yearly data? Of course we can always just go on appearance or condition, but isn't having the number of meters rowed over the machine's life relevant (similar to a car, where we want to not only do a visual inspection but having some info on lifetime miles is useful)?
Or are the rowers just not that complicated and lifetime meters is just not that important for warranty/maintenance/resale, etc.? But then, I'm still curious what benefit resetting the monitor gives you.

Resetting it gives you only the season stats in the Summary tab.
Only really interested in the results from one season to the next.
Of main interest is the average pace per 500m for all your rows. Sure you can use the online calculator for this but its a pain.
Not interested in lifetime meters on the PM5, all that stuff is on the C2 Logbook.
