ErgData for Apple Watch

Post by ruderathlet » October 7th, 2021, 7:19 am

Would love to have ErgData on my Apple Watch.

To be honest, the last thing I need, is a second display (my iPhone with ErgData) on top of the PM5, which displays the same info, that the PM5 already provides.

It would be extremely helpful to use the Apple Watch as HR monitor which sends the HR to the PM5. Why buy a separate BT HR monitor, when you already have one with the Apple Watch?

A watchOS version of ErgData would provide basically the following functions:

- Sending HR to the PM5,
- Syncing workout data with the Concept 2 Online LogBook,
- Sending workout data to Apple Health.

That‘s it. It wouldn‘t have to display detailed info during workouts, as the PM5 already displays all live info you need.

Apple Watch is the most popular watch in the world and I suspect there must be thousands of Concept 2 customers wearing an Apple Watch, who would be delighted by ErgData for Apple Watch.

Cheers!

There's nobody on the forum that can make that happen.

I ended up moving the cradle from the top of the PM5 because it was blocking the TV.

Most people have an old mobile phone by now they are not even using anymore. Just throw that in the cradle bolted to the side of the arm like this. You need a slightly longer 3/8" bolt if you want to keep it in the nylon of the locknut.

I see there are people now making a cradle that sits below the monitor to hold an iPad or the like, this is great until you accidently let go of the handle and that iPad will be toast.

The display on the watch is to small to do anything useful with.

An ANT+ HR chest strap can connect to multiple devices at the same time. It connects to the PM5 and I have an ANT+ dongle in the PC so the HR also comes up on Zwift.
