Is there really no Windows version for ErgData??

Post by DES51 » February 8th, 2021, 5:39 pm

I would rather use my phone and cradle to watch the news during a workout, but I think I have to keep ErgData the active program for my workout to be recorded. That's why I went looking for a Windows version of ErgData, since I can see all the performance data I need on the PM.

Am I right in concluding that ErgData has to remain visible on my phone to record a workout?

A windows version is not needed, everyone runs it on their mobile phone.

Just get a device with a bigger screen to watch TV on.

I don't look at ErgData while rowing, the phone is sitting on a tabletop within Bluetooth range. ErgData only gets used because it has a stroke counter and the logbook is so easy to synchronize with the Concept 2 online logbook and it contains a load of information you don't get from RowPro which is running on a 32inch flat screen.

I put mine onto other screens say if i have a text and it keeps tracking the workout. Maybe try it on a 1 minute row.

Generally android apps can run in the background once you launch them. Did you try this and have it fail ? (I've never tried it because I run ergdata on a spare kindle rather than on my phone).
