Warm up / Cool down data

Hi all,
I’m a new C2 owner ( model D pm5 ) and am loving it. I like things a bit orderly in my data and have a couple of questions which I have looked for in the FAQ but to no avail.
I warm up and cool down with a gentle row and of course the data is saved to my ErgData and monitor. Now, although I obviously want all my metres added to my lifetime total I don’t really want these ‘non working’ metres cluttering up my monitor and online logbook. What is the normal thing for most users to do about this or am I being as ocd as my better half says I am? Should I be deleting them from my ErgData and log and monitor or what?
Sorry if this is newbie nonsense.

Regards
Rob

Welcome to the campfire. It's your decision what you want to do. I leave it alone. I consider them valid distances.

I enter wu and cd by hand in my logbook and ad it up in one entry per week. In the text line you can write details about your sessions. This way you only log your serious sessions, plus one with the fluff meters.
Wu and cd I do offline.

Sorry, but I'm with your wife here. Any time I pull that chain, I count that as a meter rowed. These do get noted separately on my online logbook during interval sessions, but they are listed alongside my workout meters.

I'm another that has every meter sync'd to my online log. I'm not interested in Monthly or Annual avg pace type stats - so the slow stuff has no impact on me other than the positive of adding to the total. For all the real training sessions, I tend compare this time to last time I did the same piece - typically looking for a marginal improvement - and that is as easy to do with everything in the log as it is with half the stuff missing. Its also easy enough to order the log so that eg all 5k are listed together if you want to see a run of stats on the one piece.

I ignore what's on the monitor, esp. as my wife uses it occasionally as does my son. The online logbook is the master record. I normally also use USB rather than Ergdata - when you use USB or transfer to USB afterwards, the workout doesn't appear on the monitor memory. I also row once a week on another machine (when COVID not stopping play that is...).
The easiest thing to do is just add a comment in your online logbook for WUWD, then use the download button to download season to date as CSV. Open this in Excel then you can filter on the comment field to remove WUWD from stats.... then cut and dice the remainder any way you wish in Excel.
This way everything is recorded but you can still get whatever stats you want to see.

Welcome to the forum. Do whatever works for you is my suggestion. Personally, I don't care about any non working metres being on there, as I know why they are there, but that's just me.

I don’t really want these ‘non working’ metres cluttering up my monitor and online logbook.
Ergdata syncs to logbook only what we've done after Connect in ergdata itself. So switch on when ready to work.

PM shows everything >1 minute in any case, so volente nolente you'll see your warmup routine there, if done on the erg.
