I have Ergdata V1.3.8(3) with an iPhone 7.

On the main screen in the lower right hand corner there is a small icon next to the settings button. It looks like an "N" with two right hand parentheses next to it (like: 'N))' ).

What does this do?

If I click on it, a dialog box pops open that says "Ready to Scan. Hold iphone against PM5 screen to connect." However when I do this nothing happens.

Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?

I recently upgraded to the latest firmware for the PM5 (v29).

Are you sure it's not the BlueTooth icon?

No, he is right. There is another icon to the left of the BlueTooth icon.

I assume it is some kind of NFC connect procedure, but I haven't really looked into it. I probably ought to, since something has changed in the later ErgData versions, so I now have to connect semi-manually every time.

That is, indeed, NFC.

IMO, more useful on something like a gym-erg. At home your phone/ErgData should remember your rower after you've connected it once.

Agree. And it used to do exactly that.

But they changed something, so now I have to choose my erg on a list of ergs. Rather silly, when there is always only that same erg on the list, because I am at home.

Unfortunately, the NFC procedure doesn't change anything. Even after being paired by NFC, it doesn't remember the connection for the next time.

Same here. I have to semi-manually log into my erg every time now. Does anyone know how to correct this?
