Clearing stored workouts on gym’s C2
Clearing stored workouts on gym’s C2
Not sure where to put this one, so here goes:
When I finish a workout at my local gym it does not appear in the stored data, presumably because it is full - in fact the stored data stops in Jun 2018.
How can I clear the stored data, so the machine starts storing the latest workouts again?

Is it a PM5? If it is, you can use your own USB to store your sessions. It is a bit easy to forget it though. Or use Ergdata app if you have got a smartphone so you have them all stored on that.
I think there's a restore factory settings too but maybe do a Google search for the specific monitor as it might be different for PM3/4/5s

If it is a PM5 then factory reset it. Its probably never had a firmware update either. The only problem is that the gym may not like you fiddling with their monitors probably from the point of view if something goes wrong.

Thanks both. Yes the firmware is way out of date 0 it’s on 16, I think the latest is around version 30. I’ll google the factory reset; fortunately the gym managers are too busy trying to flog PT sessions or 3 year non-cancellable memberships to worry about C2 data logs.

You can also easily do a firmware update with the USB too. It should hopefully take about eight mins, but as it is so out of date I'm not sure if it will take longer

Takes about eight minutes, regardless of what firmware is running (as that's irrelevant, it's the firmware bootloader that does the update).Dangerscouse wrote: ↑March 5th, 2020, 4:44 amYou can also easily do a firmware update with the USB too. The risk with doing any upgrade to a PM5 is that you brick the monitor, so you'd need to ask permission.
One way to clear stored things is to take the batteries out for several hours.
Re: Clearing stored workouts on gym’s C2
Well, I did a reset of the gym’s PM5and set it back up - resetting takes around 15secs, setting up about a minute. Didn’t touch the firmware though. The difference in the functionality of ErgData is night and day. When the data log is full on the PM5 nothing saves to ErgData either. When the data is stored on the PM5 I’m pretty impressed with the data on ErgData (you all probably knew this already) and it links to Strava too. Good stuff.

I have been using Ergzone recently and I'm very impressed with it and it's got all of the stuff that you wished Ergdata had e.g. data from the previous interval, HR zones, watts & pace showing at the same time to name a few
