ErgData fine during use then fails to record data

App and PM5 work fine during workout. At end of workout I respond with ‘yes’ when asked if I’ve finished. Immediately a message comes up saying it can’t record data on the app and to check firmware. It is up to date, as is app. Data is recorded on the PM5 but will not send data back. This is intermittent but has also happened with my husband’s workouts too. Help!

1. Update the firmware on your PM5 to the latest available version.
2. Update Ergdata on your phone.
3. If the problem persists write an email to rowing@concept2.com with a description of how to recreate it.

Thanks. Both seem to be the latest updates.

Android or IOs version ?

No problem here using the latest Android 1.89 version and a Samsung A3 2017 phone and I'm also using the older version of PM5 running the V29 firmware.

Chances are your PM5 monitor is not on the latest firmware version. What version of firmware is it running from the product ID screen ?

Hi. Yes done that - PM5 displays 166 and last update on my IOS was 12th July by automatic update which coincidentally is when it started playing up. (1.14.0)

In that case you need to write an email to rowing@concept2.com.

I have had this happen with Ergdata 3-4 times in the past couple of weeks. My PM5 software is up to date.

There are good reasons why I do not use Apple products.

Mmmm. Generally disagree with you about Apple products. Maybe a software problem as it occurred only after update. I will try tomorrow and if it persists make contact as suggested with c2.

Have tried again this morning and all ok. I made a point of shutting down all other open apps on my phone, and there may have been an ‘old’ erg app open. This may be an iPhone phenomenon and therefore an iOS phenomenon which may be addressed.

I had this happen a couple of times when I selected "Yes" on the phone. I found that I had no problems if I instead exited on the PM by pressing MENU and not touching the phone until it had recorded the workout.

Ok, thanks! Will try. Seems there is a bit of a problem and I imagine if you were on a strict training regime it would be really annoying.

I have the same problem. ErgData 1.4.0 on my iPhone iOS 12.3.1 is only syncing some, but not all, my workouts with my PM5 firmware version 166 hardware version 633. It appears to be working fine during the workout then at the end it gives error that the workout was not synced and that I need to update PM5 firmware, but it is already the latest version. I emailed rowing@concept2.com.

The very same issue occured to me today for the first time. iPhone SE with iOS 12.3.1, running the latest ErgData 1.4.1 :(
Worked fine on a 5000m session this morning, and the issue occured on an 8000 meter session.
