Rowpro and Concept 2 Log book

I just bought my very own Model D with PM3 and also got RowPro at the same time. I am having problems with Rowpro. It will not connect to the internet and when I try to upload my workouts to the Concept 2 logbook I am told that my username or password are incorrect. Well the username and password are not incorrect. I am posting here to see if anyone else had this kind of problem and if they have any tips. I emailed Rowpro, but have not had any response yet.
Also, is there any way to add comments to the rowing log? Thanks for any help..

Joe

I have RowPro, but prefer to just post my data to the rowing log directly, using the Concept 2 utility software. It can be done with your computer connected to the monitor, as it would be when you are using RowPro, but I use a log card and card reader to make the transfer to my desktop which is in another room. Comments can be added to the online log by clicking on the edit feature.

What version of Firmware do you have in the PM3 ?

If it is to old it will not work with RowPro. From memory you need at least V101 for the older versions of PM3.

Also I think that Pam Loeffen at Digital Rowing had to do something for me before I could upload my log results and participate in the monthly challenges.

Right click on the log entries and you can add notes I think.

The Model D rower is just out of the box with only a few thousand metres on it, so the firmware should be up to date. I got a card with the new rower, but it is not really very useful without the reader, which I might still purchase. I guess I'll just have to wait till someone at Rowpro gets back to me to get the connection to the internet set up. I am underwhelmed by their response so far.

If you have the computer connected to the monitor for use with RowPro, you don't need a card reader, since the monitor itself fulfills that function, i.e. reading the card. You don't have to use RowPro, just the Concept 2 Utility software, which should have come with the Model D.

Thanks Bob,
I have tried to export my workouts from the Logbook on my computer to the Concept2 logbook, but it tells me I have the password or username wrong. I have checked these several times and they are not wrong. Not sure how to proceed. I think the error message is bogus, and the software has a different problem that it doesn't have a proper error message for. I think the problem is that it cannot access the internet for some reason. I have fiddled with all kinds of settings relating to the firewall etc, but to no avail. Eventually I will get it sorted out since I have a pretty vanilla setup at my end so the problem cannot be too complex.

I guess that I don't understand the problem. When I open the Concept 2 Utility application, there is no request for username or password. What I see is this:

Note that, when you scroll down, the two icons in the lower left corner have red Xs. That is because I don't have this computer connected to my C2 monitor. If I did the Xs would not be there and I could click on the Transfer Data icon at the top and go on with the next step. Note: RowPro is not involved here at all - just the Concept 2 Utility application. This computer, my desktop, is an iMac which does not have Parallels or Bootcamp installed so I could not even use RowPro on it.

I guess we are dealing with different software here. I have Rowpro and the Concept2 Logbook software installed. I haven't tried using the Concept 2 Utility. I guess that's what I'll have to do since the Rowpro and the Log book software that came with it don't work. I'll give the Concept 2 utility a try.
Thanks

Joe,
Did you find a solution for this?

I have been using Rowpro for three years and it has just started to do what you posted. When I right click on my workouts and 'export to C2'
it asks me to verify my online id#. When I click yes, it tells me username or pasword is incorrect - they aren't.

Anyone else had this problem?

Simon.

Just got this response from Pete at Digital Rowing:
Hi Simon,

Thanks for reporting this issue. We’re working on it at present, ETA is not certain yet.

I’ll advise you as soon as it’s working again.

Sorry for the nuisance in the meantime.

Pete

I'll post when I get a solution.

The same thing just happened to me too. 3 months of uploading without a problem and then it stops.
I can confirm that the concept 2 utility can still upload, although it not quite a slick as doing it through row pro.
Time to log a report to digital rowing!
