RowPro 3.0 Going Bonkers

After I close RowPro, RPEngine stays in memory and starts using 52% of my laptop's 2-CPU memory. Hearing the fan roar, I bring up Task Manager and forcibly remove it from memory. OK, no biggie, but it's weird. What's happening?
I know, I should buy a new computer and upgrade. But WTF?

I think its time to get 4.3, there is a special on at present and it will include 5.0 when its released.
RowPro really has come a long way since V3.0 but you may need some new hardware to go with it or at least a copy of Windows 10 which will not run on anything older than about 2006 as the CPU is just not up to the task. Personally I wouldn't splash out for the software and then lock it to something old an obsolete in terms of hardware so its time for a new laptop.
Whats your current laptop specifications ?

Problem solved. I chose the second-simplest graphics, "Aerial View", and a smaller RPEngine.exe loads and unloads properly.

Is that a Core Duo ? sounds like it will run Windows 10.
You need more memory however, it least 1Gb preferably 2Gb.
He is a good free program to run to see what memory you have and slots available.

Thanks again. I'm OK with RowPro now, I don't need the fancier graphics. I have saved your link in case I need it later.

Version 5.0 is included if you buy 4.3 now? Did it mention that on the Rowpro website or somewhere?

Yes it is, the licence number you will be issued with will run both.
Not sure if its mentioned on the Website, it should be but wouldn't surprise me if its not. They are very focused on the product development which is great but the marketing leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.

Thanks, that is great news! Looks like it may be time to buy a license.

When you get your licence number just plug it into the upgrades tab found here.

You should see the V5 option come up for you as well.
Really looking forward to V5.0 as the core of V4.3 is now working really well. Just recently I have lost the connection to the race server a couple of times during the 30 minute and yet it was able to reconnect automatically and the rowing continued as normal.
Hopefully one or two suggestions got implemented but after that it seams a pretty complete package. I guess allot more could go into the graphics options down the track, this is an area with near unlimited possibilities.
