I will apologize in advance if this has been discussed previously, but I didn't see an answer when I searched.
I am interested in using software to improve my performance. I currently have an older Polar HRM and have a PM3. I would like to use a program to customize my training sessions according to each day's particular target HR based on the Polar HR targets. Is there a program that permits this? I have also looked at the info from the various vendors and the paucity of detailed info is disappointing.

Re: Heart Rate and software
I am really looking for a program that I can adjust daily to the HR range determined by the Polar HRM. Said another way, I would like to be able to enter my daily range limits and have the program design a workout that would keep me in that range. Does this make any sense or am I asking too much?

To keep it simple you just design your own program.
For example for me a 45 minute row at 2:03.0 ave/500M results in an average HR from the PM3 memory (or get a LogCard it stores more results) of 146 which is my "Middle UT2".
You need HR on your PM and then you only need the Polar chest belt, I have no need for the watch.
Find out your resting HR and your Max HR and put it in here.

Do a few training rows and find out what pace & spm you need to row at constantly for the whole duration of the workout to fit into the training band you require and away you go.
With a few rows you can establish what pace = what HR band your trying to acheive.

Re: Heart Rate and software
Carl,
Thank you! This isn't exactly what I was looking for, but it is will answer the question for me. There is a lot of great info on the Free Spirits site as well. Armed with this I think I can start to improve my rowing ability beyond the "just rowing" that I have been doing.
Thanks, again,
UW
