That's the way I do it and never have a problem.mitchel674 wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2021, 10:16 pmI never have an issue with all three.
1. Connect HRM to PM5.
2. Connect ergdata on my iphone to PM5.
3. Plug the USB cable into my laptop running Rowpro.
The sequence is key. Rowpro must be last or the others will simply not be seen by the PM5.

Re: Using RowPro, ErgData and HRM together
Now running two monitors on the one rower and its great. Was finally getting a bit tired of the issues to be honest, especially the online 10K it almost always failed.
The PM5 is now independent and so I can also now alter my recorded ErgData splits to whatever I want as well.
The PM3 just looks after RowPro, nothing else.
Setup time is a little longer but no issues at all now. The "ReRow" can be used once you have some history in memory so its a couple of extra button presses. Once the PM5 is setup it can just sit there and it doesn't shutdown even after 10 minutes.
You don't need to do anything with the PM3, just turn on the PC and jump into RowPro before or after setting up the PM5.
Can also now do PB's online with RowPro for the 100m, 1 min and 500m without getting pinged with the start latency issue. Essentially RowPro is hopeless for doing PB's because of the "Race" start. You have your reaction time+internet latency+The way the rower starts the clock during the first drive. You can lose nearly 2 seconds compared to your ErgData result, its a no go for short sprint events.
RowPro still gives me the "Pretty Pictures" and the online motivation but all the data to my C2 LogBook comes from ErgData now.
Will also now be able to use the PM5 on V169 firmware, this was a total no go before, the USB connection kept getting lost on every row.

Re: Using RowPro, ErgData and HRM together
Well that came about partly in frustration.
I have mentioned to Digital rowing about 4 times they should change the background colour from white to a "highligter" green on the rows you have joined for quick reference in MyRowPro so you don't need to go into the row to check you have joined it. This has not happened and then I discovered myRowPro displayed the Imoji graphic in the text line. Doesn't work in one part of RowPro after checkin but that doesn't really matter by then (The PM5 cannot display it either obviously)
The Imoji makes your row really stand out and easy to find.
It would appear that finding a semi-work around is always the game.
The second PM monitor is great, faultless performance now.

Joined a 3k race today. First time in a while that I got locked out of the server and couldn't get back in. Oarbits still showed me as rowing.

Yeah the race server still plays up but at least if you have a faultless setup and something goes wrong you know its not a problem at your end !
RowPro simply has to work 99% of the time or else I throw my toys out of the boat.
