Just to clarify John. The typical use of ErgData does not involve pairing using the the phones Bluetooth settings just connecting directly from ErgData. In this case, there should be no PM5 device in the phone's Bluetooth device list. Is that consistent with your experience?

The proposed fixed was to first pair using the phone's Bluetooth settings, and then immediately unpair. Is this what you did?

We now believe that the process to resolve Android phones not connecting with a PM5 running recent firmware (v169/v869/v206) is as follows:

1. Close the ErgData app
2. Put the PM5 into Connect screen
3. Use the Bluetooth phone settings to pair with the PM5
4. Unpair the PM5 from Bluetooth phone settings

Restart the Ergdata app and attempt to connect.

Hello everybody.

I just received Model D. Luckily it only took couple of days and a lot of watching the side of a certain online retailer in EU.

As for Samsung A51 connection issues - I have A41 which has same BT version but different chipset (Mediatek). I must admit BT struggles with both Garmin watch and my car compared to previous phone.

What I found is that when I turn on GPS it connects to C2 no problem. Before turning it on I struggled for 15 minutes trying everything I can.
Hope it helps someone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. ErgData worked fine until I installed the most recent firmware update a few days ago. I tried the fix mentioned in this string, clearing the Bluetooth storage data, but it still doesn't work. When I turn on the erg monitor the Bluetooth symbol appears. However, when I connect my phone the Bluetooth symbol flickers off, then on again a few seconds later. The phone connects momentarily but then loses the connection when the Bluetooth symbol disappears.

I'd like to receive the instructions to reset the erg monitor to the status before the update, when it worked fine. Thanks.

1. https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware
2. https://www.concept2.com/service/monito ... s-odometer (has instructions for a hard reset)
3. DO NOT pair your phone with your PM5 first. It uses BTLE which doesn't need pairing.

If you want to go back to an earlier version of the firmware you will need to contact Concept2 directly.

Ahhhh the advantages of using an older phone that no longer gets any updates

Last available software update on it was 1 December 2018.

Been watching Samsung for a newer phone but the construction of them has now become a bit cheap and nasty, they really have turned into a throw away device every year or two.
