No you don't stay in a line but you will do say 10K and others will do 11k for example.
The difference is others do not need to wait for 5 minutes for you to finish your 10K and your all in the post row chat at the same time as you finish together.
It just works better, others don't wait otherwise and are gone by the time you finish

Apple products bark like a dog, the last thing i used of their that worked properly was the Apple 2E. I tried using some of their gear a couple of years ago and I wanted to smash it with a hammer after 2 minutes.

Yes there are plenty of people using it, the big problem is that they either row offline or setup rows at the last second so you cannot join in. If you look at the results there are considerably more rows showing than what is being scheduled.

Carl, I enjoy reading your rowpro threads. I've had rowpro for a few years, but have now only just started getting into erging. I'm now on my week 10 of the basic Pete Plan, but I'm still fairly slow. Is there any point to me trying to connect with others for these long steady state rows (10k next week) if my pace is only 2:15? I think I would find other rowers somewhat motivating, but how would I even be in the same "water" with folks rowing sub 2:00?
The trick here is not to set-up 10K rows but setup 45 minute rows.
The reason is you all start and then FINISH at the same time, times are always more popular than distances if you want others to join in, its purely psychological.
2:15 pace is not slow, plenty of people only doing 2:30 or even slower. Same problem they see themselves as "Slow" and don't join it. Like I said its all about training and not about racing. It's pretty sad the the world has got so competitive and its lost all the fun, your rowing for fitness and weight loss not trying to set a WR every time you get in the seat.
