RowPro Rowers and CTC-february 7777m challenge

Post by AndreasB » February 2nd, 2008, 4:09 am

So MichaelB and I have done the february challenge.
Now we just need 3 more RowPro-rowers (one hwt, one lwt and one female) to do the challenge and we got ourself a boat in top 5 (for a short while at least).

In my opinion the 7777 meter-challenge is a lot more fun and rewarding than last months 250 meters.

How about setting up some 7777m-race on RP to get those times down?

Regards,
AndreasB

Ok, I've set up a 7777m race sunday at 16.30 GMT.
Everybody is welcome to join.

I should say that my 7777 row the other night was just a medium training row at 2:00 pace. I row lots of 8ks, so the 7777 will feel right at home, and if I pushed I should be in the 1:53 or so range. But I think it will be good for RP and the online rowing and the team if we all regularly do the CTC distances online. Other teams do that already.

Andreas: I don't see your row for Sunday on either oarbits or on the beta? I saw that Chad has a 7777 row on the beta I think for 19:00 gmt. I am probably going skiing tomorrow, but if I stay home I will consider joining on of those rows.

Sorry, I had set it up for next month.
It's corrected now.

If nobody joins me at 16.30 GMT I might join Chad instead.

I've posted a time (2:28 pace), not as great as some, but I"ve got all month to work on it!
I'll try to convince a LWT friend of mine to join in.

Hi Lynne,
Thats a great time.
It would be perfect if we could get a Lwt in the boat.
Maybe we should set up a 7777m-row for RowPro rowers for us to improve on our times.

I know I can do better than the one I have entered so far.

AndreasB

Feel free to send some people down to Boat 2. It's lonely here at the moment!

Cheers

Are the independants really a team (or just the people not on a team?). Someone should PM Andreas Von Tonder and ask him to row for rowpro. He is possibly the faster rower we have online right now and he is on the RP Jan team and annual team.

That would dump me back to boat II where I belong.

We had Andreas on the Tsotsies team for a while, but then we stopped filling boats and he got tired of wasting his good rows. It looks like the RP team is doing OK, so it could be worth contacting him. I'll drop him a mail.
