On the latest firmware I've been seeing a similar issue when using a Samsung tablet.
Ergdata on the tablet works nicely with a workout set directly in the PM5, including with the PM5 connected over BT to a Garmin HRM. All the data stays in sync, and gets uploaded from ErgData to my logbook at the end of the workout.
However, if I try to upload a custom workout from the ErgData app, the connection is dropped about 5s after the start of the upload, then automatically re-establishes. Resetting the PM5 seems to make no difference.
