ErgData APK For Android without Play Store

Previously, the ErgData webpage had a link to the Android APK for non-Play Store tablets (like Kindle Fire). In a website redesign, this link appears to no longer exist. Is there a way to officially (and safely) get this APK from C2 without having to trawl some of the shadier Android APK sites?

Ergdata ships bug fixes almost monthly. Think you'll want to keep current. That's hard if you need to email concept2 for each new version.

One alternative is loading the google play store app to your kindle. I used to do this, it worked. Then you can load apps like ergdata via the play store rather than installing via APK. A second alternative I've never tried is to extract the ergdata APK from google play then load the APK.

The old ergdata was stable for me on kindle. After some stability issues with the new ergdata on Kindle and Chromebook I eventually switched to using an old android phone. Much more reliable, smaller screen though. Not sure if the ergdata stability issues were kindle/chomebook related, but they went away when I switched.

For the older ergdata (v 1.98) The kindle fire I used was a Fire HD 8 that was bought in 2016. I just now powered it up and launched ergdata to see if it would still run. Ergdata started fine and wanted to connect to my pm5. But that version would have been loaded by the kindle app store, not google play. And it's no longer supported.

I may have reimaged the kindle I used for new ergdata. I think it was a fire 10 9th gen (2021), but that kindle currently has neither the new version of ergdata nor the google play store.

When I loaded the old version of ergdata through the kindle app store I used the HD 8 because Ergdata could not be loaded to my fire HDX (2015), so the HDX hardware or OS were incompatible with old ergdata.

I have good experiences with apkmirror (for other apps that I need to sideload).
Pretty reliable site (although sometimes a bit unclear). Your miles may vary

"Thanks for your email and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I was looking into this to see if we had a version of ErgData available for use with the Kindle and unfortunately we do not have one that will work with this device type. There was an old version of Ergdata that is now discontinued (saince 2021) and no longer available that was compatible with Kindle devices that is probably what others were referring to.

At this point we do not have any app options for Kindle users however I will be happy to send you email to our app developers so they are aware of the interest. Have a nice day."

So, no Kindle app at the present, or in the near future, and the current version of Ergdata is incompatible with Kindle.
