Ergdata current release logs twice on android phone

Hi everybody,

updated ergdata today before rowing, started row as usual.
- switch on PM5
- switch on device (Android 10 ) and let Auto connect
- program session (today HM)
- start the row
All no problem and as usual.
After row finished, pressing "save and..." -> show logbook to force sync. Also worked as usual, could check my stats.
Powered off device, powered off PM5.
After checking my logbook online, I saw that the HM was logged twice, exact same data, but a minute difference in time.

Anyone else experienced this?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked and couldn't find it.

This started a few sessions ago. When my session ends, it gets logged to the USB stick inserted into the PM. It also logs to the Online Logbook. This is done via the Ergdata app on a Samsung tablet (connected to the PM5 via Bluetooth). Normally, the data (Distance, Time, Pace, etc.) is exactly the same between the USB stick and the online logbook. Lately, the Online data is way off.

The data is correct on the USB stick. I have attached a screenshot of the online logbook that shows the issue. For this, I removed the USB stick from the PM5 and uploaded the workout to the Online logbook via the Concept2 Utility app on my Mac.

You see 2 workouts listed for 3/28/23 in the screenshot. The second one (779m) is what the online logbook shows after the session (uploaded via the Samsung tablet Ergdata app). The first one (1,771m) is from the USB stick connected directly to the PM5.

As you can see, the data is way off on the second entry. I'm not sure what happened to cause this. Any help/suggestions are very welcome!

Oops. Looks like I can't attach the picture for some "quota" reason.
Here is the data that the screenshot shows:

The incorrect online logbook shows:
779m (Distance) - 13.56.2 (Time) - 8.56.7 (Pace)
The correct USB entry shows:
1,771 (Distance) - 8.56.2 (Time) - 2.31.3 (Pace)

May not be relevant, but in the past C2 has advised against using both USB and Ergdata (or any other app) at the same time as its likely to "set up conflicts on where the finished workout results are saved". This was from C2 answering a similar problem I had in 2019 - albeit under the previous version of Ergdata.

Thank you. Yes, I've seen that in the past. I've not had a problem until now. I guess there is a reason for the recommendation. I was just wondering if anyone else had see similar behavior.

I just noticed this exact same behavior. I see the duplicated event logged twice in C2 logbook -- 1 minute apart. The event was correctly logged only once on my PM5 USB flash storage. I'm on ErgData 2.1.1. I have never seen this duplication happen with earlier ErgData versions.

Have you heard anything back from C2 email?

No response from concept2 yet.
I also observed some strange behaviour when I did my 6k. Ergdata showed syncing wheel for many times, over and over again, when ending the row. Then stopped with noting that it will sync when connection established (but connection was fine). Then I selected logbook and I could see that two sessions were shown very short time and after sync wheel again one session was killed and only the correct 6k was shown in my logbook workout list.
No idea what ergdata is doing there

I've had the same experience several times lately. Recorded one of my workouts 3 times about a week ago. Tonight i did a 20 minute piece and it recorded that twice. Deleted one from the log, Rebooted the phone because it wouldn't exit the Ergdata app. Then did the loop. Didn't record that one at all. Android 13. Connections to the PM5 seemed to be working normally.

Same problem here, and notes keep being overwritten for some (but not all) workouts.

Yep. I see a row of a couple of days ago losing its notes each time I open ErgData.

That is really strange
Seems that ergdata tries to update/resync all rows, but cannot fetch all data (or gets interrupted somehow).

The entry itself is perfectly fine, but doubled. The other thread describes a discrepancy between ergdata and logbook.

I agree with you Sakly, they don't seem to be related. What I did notice last night, was that my log contained two entries with a danger triangle next to it for the last row, after which it synced them. So the duplication seems to happen client side, not server side.

I assume the same. I don't think that server side much updates are made, so I concluded that this behavior is related to the app update I made before.
I got response from c2, same message as spamymaps in another thread, next update should fix it.
