Hi there,
I just tried out Concept2's Ergdata app on my iPhone (OS16) together with the Ergdata app on my Apple Watch (which starts automatically on a row workout). Generally good, but one puzzling issue, possibly a bug? On a 10 minute row, my HR was displayed as "0 bpm" on the watch for about 2 minutes, then started updating properly for ~2 minutes, then stuck at 120 bpm until the ~8 min mark, where it shoots up to 158 bpm and continues updating properly till the end.
Has anyone else experienced dropouts of significant delays of their HR in Ergdata? Hopefully there's a fix otherwise maybe a watch ANT+ app might be a better option. I use the same watch for other workouts (running & weight training) with no delays/dropouts of realtime HR.
Thanks.
Ergdata, Apple Watch and HR dropouts
Re: Ergdata, Apple Watch and HR dropouts
I haven't noticed drop-outs, but I stopped using my Apple Watch for my heart rate while rowing. It was just too difficult and undependable to get it to wake up so I could see my HR while rowing. I have a PM3 and already had a Polar chest strap, so I bought the Concept2 heart rate receiver for the PM3 and use that.
I do record my workouts on my iThings and I have noticed the Apple Watch often fails to display HR right away. I found if I fire-up the watch's HR display, then go back to the exercise app, the HR then shows up.
I never had this problem in the past. I suspect a bug in the most recent firmware update I applied.

Re: Ergdata, Apple Watch and HR dropouts
I have been using the Erg Data with a PM5 rowing computer and, like others, I’m puzzled why the heart rate is erratic. It was not a probkem when I set the watch to ‘indoor row’. I’d go back to that but using the app makes it easier to set up, especially when using WOD.
When I press ready it displays a heart rate on the watch and the app, but this doesn’t change very often and certainly doesn’t accurateky track the effort.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved!
