For Tsnor. I have never been able to connect my H10 to the PM5 and the polar beat app. Also, I must connect the HRM to the PM5 first then open the (old) app or it will not connect.
Still trying different sequences to get the new app working.
For what it’s worth, I have always opened Polar Beat and established that connection with the HRM first before starting the PM5. Then the PM5 and then ErgData. PM5 used to automatically pick up my HRM but since the update I have to manually connect it. No big deal, but curious none the less.

In polar beat there is a setting to TURN ON the second bluetooth (BTLE) radio. It is off by default. https://support.polar.com/en/support/ca ... al_devices

You need that second radio on to talk to both the PM5 and Beat if you use bluetooth for both.

I used to use both BTLE radios and connect to both PM5 and Beat. It worked fine. A year ago I changed to use ANT+ instead of BTLE to talk to the PM5 based on Carl Watt's suggestion. That also works fine so I've turned the 2nd radio back off in hopes of saving a little H10 battery life. Both approaches worked for me.

Perhaps the problem you saw is Beat grabbing the BTLE connection so the PM5 had no connection. Your fix of getting the H10 connected to the PM5 first before you started Beat kept Beat from grabbing the only BTLE connection. With both bluetooth radios running you should be able to start and connect in any order.

did the update to Version 2.0.2(2) but still the same issue with iOS. Just updated the iPhone to 15.6 and now it connects. No workout schedule for today, will see if it runs and saves tomorrow.

This is the sequence for connecting that worked today. Make sure Bluetooth is turned off on your phone. Open PM5. Connect HRM to PM5. PM5 says "ready for app connection" open Ergdata app (latest version) turn on Bluetooth on the phone. Choose your PM5 ID and accept connection.

I use the ErgData app every day.

The new app worked fine until July 28th. That was my last properly recorded workout.

Since then I can no longer connect my Wahoo HRM via Ant+ - instead, the app only offers BLE, which drops and reconnects every 15-20 seconds.

The app connects to my PM5 initially, but at the end of the workout, nothing has been recorded.

What a massive, albeit free, disappointment.

Can anyone recommend an alternative app?

Lot of stuff going on here.

1. Ergdata has nothing to do with the connection between your Wahoo HRM and the PM5. If ANT+ no longer works something else is going on. Your Wahoo HRM connects to the PM5, not ergdata. Turn off your phone and get Ergdata out of the way. Power the PM5 on and off with your phone powered down so the PM5 is not connected to anything (press menu slowly 4 times from the main screen to power a PM5 off). Power up the PM5 and connect the wahoo HRM using the connect menu on the PM5. Wait until you see the ANT+ entry (BTLE may appear first, but both will be there) and select it. If you don't see ANT+ then reset your wahoo.

2. "app connects to my PM5 initially, but at the end of the workout, nothing has been recorded." Nothing recorded in the app, or in the C2 log? Assume you can see the workout in your PM5. If you can see the workout in Ergdata but not the log then did you synch, and did your sync work ? If the data is in ergdata and is not getting to the log then maybe try logging in and out of the C2 log in the app. The old ergdata had problems with sync occasionally and this usually fixed it.

3. "instead, the app only offers BLE" The old app only connected via BTLE. Your phone does not have an ANT+ receiver/transmitter. An Ant+ HRM connects to the PM5, then the PM5 uses BTLE to send the HR data to ergdata. (If you want ANT+ on your phone (say to connect a bike petal cadence device) you need to buy an ANT+ dongle to get it. USB ANT+ dongles cost about $25 US.)

Good luck. If all else fails uninstall the ergdata app, then reinstall. Posts here say concept2 has pushed a few ergdata revisions with bug fixes. Maybe something they fixed will clear up the problems you are seeing.

J: Correct - perhaps I was unclear. I understand that the Wahoo connects to the PM5. Before the update, the PM5 would allow an ANT connection, and it would connect and remain connected with no issues. Now, only BTLE option shows on PM5, and connection drops…

2. "app connects to my PM5 initially, but at the end of the workout, nothing has been recorded." Nothing recorded in the app, or in the C2 log? Assume you can see the workout in your PM5. J: PM5 records the workout (though not heart rate - see above), but not ErgData.

J: Understood.

no connection again today. iOS bluetooth does not show the PM5 in the list (unless its connected) so you cannot "forget this device". Have deleted the app and reinstalled it. Same issue always. PM5 say its connected but on the app it just spins and spins, absolutely pissed off with this shit. spend more time trying to get it connected than rowing. Another issue now with the the PM3/PM4 app and old cable. when I sync to logbook its says the workouts are not verified.

Can you send this one to Concept2 support? EMAIL: info@concept2.com

This can't be intended behavior. I am still on the old app, not the "ergdata for pm3/pm4", and my workouts still show up "Verified Yes". Bummer if the PM3/PM4 app is different than the old app. (Old app is still on the Amazon Kindle/Fire ecosystem).
