RowPro pieces not marked as sent?

Post by haus » January 31st, 2022, 7:02 pm

I was running RowPro 5.7.6 for Windows (10) and noticed that starting Jan 13, under the online logbook, my previously uploaded rows still say "Send" even though they've been uploaded to C2. If I row a piece and send it, it shows as sent ("C2" in the Export column), and I see the meters in C2, but the next time I open RowPro it says "Send" again.

I tried upgrading to 5.8.0, but under that version the online logbook just opens a black screen, so I can't see anything. I happened to have a saved copy of RowPro 5.7.2, so I reinstalled that. I can access the logbook again, but all my rows since Jan 12 still say "Send" instead of "C2".

I wonder if anyone else has seen this and has a fix?

Hi, have you changed the setting in your account to "Automatic" ? The rows then just get uploaded automatically if you take it off manual and you never have to look at it.

The latest version is 5.8.0, I would just download that and install it from here.

How old is the PC your using ? no issues for me on a decent newish i7 PC and a ton or ram.

Lots of Windows 10 updates of late, go into "Check for updates" and get get everything. Don't rely on Windows to do every update automatically, you have to manually click on some to download them, especially the optional updates.

There can be some driver updates in there as well.

Updated you video card driver lately ? pays to keep that updated as well, Nvida releases updates just about every month for the GTX750Ti and I always stay current. Graphics card problems with RowPro are common you need a decent card.

I had to give up on trying to run RowPro on an old PC I found in a dumpster a few years ago now, it practically needs a 64Bit gaming rig now for it to run flawlessly.

Hi Carl, hope you are well and thanks for replying!

I'll look into the automatic setting. I don't know what changed, if no one else is seeing this issue with the logbook. The PC is dedicated to RowPro and is only used when someone is on the erg.

I tried 5.8.0 and only got a black screen when viewing the log book (similar to when I used to only get a white screen when using a prior, underpowered PC). I can try windows update and 5.8.0 again.

My PC is using AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics. It's integrated graphics, which I know isn't great, but it was working fine up until this issue started. It's still working fine, but I just can't tell when my rows have uploaded. Not a huge deal, but if I can't update to 5.8.0 due to the black screen issue then I would have to build a new PC just to run RowPro, and I'm not really interested in doing that at this time.

Appreciate the thoughts as usual, always nice to see you on here.

Cheers Greg.

That Vega 3 graphics is just not up to the job with a score of only 885.

Currently I'm using a Nvidia GTX 750Ti, its still and older card now but has a score of 4000.

An underpowered card (or just the standard integrated graphics) will give you all sorts of issues, time to upgrade your system a bit. Don't be fooled by the chunky graphics, you need an entry level gaming rig if you want it to last another 5 years and give you full frame rates of 60-75fps.

Something like a laptop with the GTX 1050Ti from a couple of years ago upwards would do the job. Probably looking at a card with a score of 5000 or better.

The thing is, that card works fine with RP, 60fps, no issues. And the problem with the rows not showing as uploaded has nothing to do with the graphics card, since all the rows before Jan 13 show as uploaded (and they still do). And I've been running that PC for months that way.

Anyway, clearly the uploaded rows problem is unique to my system since no one else mentioned it. Maybe Windows updated and broke something on Jan 13.

Can you update the graphics driver ?

Basically mine gets updated every 1 to 2 months when the next version comes out.

I used to use old PC's but one day those Pentium 4 machines just started having issues with RowPro and then they got to the point it wouldn't even open RowPro or display the 3D graphics. Microsoft Windows just moves on with updates and your RP stops working.

I try and keep everything up to date, even the BIOS on the PC.

ErgData has the best logbook and the SYNC is easy to he C2 LogBook. Not 100% reliable when trying to use RowPro at the same time however.

Just a quick followup - the logbook started working again out of the blue. Strange!
