Do either of the apps - painseld and rowed biker - actually programme the PM5?
Using painsled I can get the PM5 power output into trainerroad, but does the communication work the other direction? For me it seems important that workouts are programmed into the PM5 so you can see the interval time remaining, average split for the interval etc.
The way I had it running, everything looked good in the trainerroad software but on the erg it seemed to be on just row.
Is there something I can do different, or is this the way it is?
Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested?

PM5-via BT to rowedbiker- via BT to Zwift
PM5- via USB cable to ergdata
my way...
Just rows are the best way to handle it. You can also create a specific workout pm5 based: distance or duration or interval - but you have to keep in mind that the avatar or your records on trainerroad will be interrupted by the pm5... sometimes not so good(group ride, pacebot ride etc.) Now just a joke for a smile : my Avatar said: "hey if you want to hang around with me...make sure your PetePlan workouts are come as a Zwift based workout." ...so I created the whole PetePlan as a Zwift based workout. This doesn't work with the monthly ctc competition... obviously...this is always a pm5 based workout...performed offline with boost 50%

No, communication is one-way from rower to app. In Zwift and other apps that support "erg mode" you can use that to get your rowing wattage target displayed in the app but that's about it.tobypearce wrote: ↑October 4th, 2021, 1:36 amDo either of the apps - painseld and rowed biker - actually programme the PM5?
I HAVE considered adding support for programming workouts into the C2 PM but the rower doesn't actually control resistance like a cycling trainer so it didn't add much to the experience. Plus mapping workouts from random apps into the PM format is an insanely complicated implementation and there are other features waiting that have a lot more utility (workout sync for Android!) I honestly don't see that feature getting any development priority in the near future. Claudius probably has the best alternative, if you are up for getting the dual PM connection going
Cheers, James

If you want to increase the versatility and still use ErgData and RowedBike you can connect two PM5's to the rower.
I have one PM5 sitting down in the "V" of the front leg connected to RowedBiker via Bluetooth and the other up on the arm connected to ErgData via Bluetooth in the cradle.
Everything would be a whole lot easier if Zwift just implemented a native USB connection to my PC and a module within the software for some configuration settings.
Essentially my setup allows to you to do anything you want independently with one PM5 and the second is just sending the Watts generated to Zwift.

Interesting, did you add a second sensor/pickup?Carl Watts wrote: ↑October 4th, 2021, 1:23 pmIf you want to increase the versatility and still use ErgData and RowedBike you can connect two PM5's to the rower.

No you can Parallel the two monitors off the same pickup sensor. I soldered a complete second lead on the sensor. Bit of a shame its a 2.5mm stereo setup because had it been a 3.5mm stereo setup a "Y" lead and splitting it off could have been done more easily for the average person as this is a common audio lead.exerscreen wrote: ↑October 4th, 2021, 1:30 pmInteresting, did you add a second sensor/pickup?Carl Watts wrote: ↑October 4th, 2021, 1:23 pmIf you want to increase the versatility and still use ErgData and RowedBike you can connect two PM5's to the rower.
