Ergdata app data??

Post by JoeChaos » June 1st, 2021, 6:25 pm

I've used the app from c2 on my phone linked to pm5 with tracker watch broadcasting HR readings. I'm new to rowing, 48.5 and moderate fitness but planning to get back to a higher fitness level again. I'm 87kg and 196cm tall.

My question is what is the drive length and what should it be for me? I'm rowing at 24s/m but that's holding back as I always used to row at 27-32 s/m and 27 or 28 seems to be more natural to me. This is with a drive length of 1.27m to 1.34m with brief interludes at 1.48m. 500m taste is 2:10 I think with periods closer to 2:00.

70% of height as length and half your weight as average force will keep you fit.

1.96 x 0.7 x 87/2 x g = 585 Nm, or 10 W-min/stroke: the ratio between Watts and Rating. A lower ratio means you are not rowing, so the first thing to do is to learn how it's done. This is shown in the C2 technique videos and instructions for use, which describe how to engage legs and hips and so do some work.

Consequently: 200W at rate 20 as initial training level for UT1 (up to 70% HR Range), increasing to 240W at 23. This for example in 5k and 30 minute pieces.

Rates 27-32 are used for AT work and racing/trials, at up to 400W. Both will require considerable endurance, as well as good technique, to be effective.

The acceleration due to gravity, 9.81 m/s². This converts kgf to Newton; in the ISO system 1 Newton-meter per second (Nm/s) = 1 Watt.
