In terms of energy, and mental resilience, the body wants an equilibrium so a steady consistent pace is advisable.

As it's your first FM, you won't know the warning signs and you could quite easily derail your result by thinking that you're able to go faster earlier on. Even when you're used to them, the effort can take you by surprise, so be careful of your decisions.
