Help with training using Apple Watch and Ergdata app

Post by Soulsurfer » February 10th, 2021, 1:31 pm

Does this seem right? I usually launch the open rowing on the Apple watch as the Ergdata on my iPhone is connected to the PM-5. I think it is double counting. That being said, should I just not run the Apple Watch fitness rowing, then?

These threads talks about apple watches and duplicate entries. The key section is in the first thread

"IT seems apple can handle duplicate workouts, i.e. calories and rings are only counted once, but the number of trainings ist still incl doubles: My training app reports 4 workouts if I have done 2 workouts with activated ergdata sync and apple training logging. I guess I will keep both activated."

Thank you. Wow, I am a retired I.T. exec who managed Dev Ops and then some, and this feels like such a mess.

..and that's coming from a Dev-Ops guy where no two tools ever work with each other, and data never migrates correctly from one version to another.

Exercise equipment saw HUGE interoperability strides in just the last decade, but a long way to go. Each "health device" wants their own eco-system and wants to hoard/mine the data. Nice that C2 pushes data out the other places rather than demanding that all data reside on their site.

I am grateful that I can "track" this because to it's all about tracking the sessions and the progress. At least there are enough "side-apps" which also work with C2. This is my favourite tech, bar none.
