PM5 VS ERG DATA

Post by Kirby » January 28th, 2021, 5:38 pm

I did a row today, 6 x 4 min with 2 min rest. the PM5 has my average split at 2:05.6 Erg Data has the Raw Score split at 2:21.3 and the Weight Adjusted split at 2:14.0.....why the difference.

I did try searching the site for an answer first....btw

Thanks

What's Raw Score? Never saw that anywhere. From the numbers, would seem 6 minutes rest is included; is that it?

When you say "raw score" do you mean the unadjusted result? Weight adjusted results are only useful for OTW rowers as it there is some detriment to being heavier in a boat.

It's a completely false result if you just do indoor rowing, so it's best avoided unless you want an ego boost.

I often stare at my weight adjusted times. Even better was an age adjusted calculator I happened upon once that showed I am really Rowing my 2k at close to 6:00. 😃

"RAW SCORE" is one of the two buttons in erg data on my iphone. on the bottom left, you toggle between the RAW SCORE and th Weight Adjusted. What is really funny is the data in the logbook on the C2 site is the same as the PM5. Not the end of the world, just curious
