RowPro 5.7

Post by CooksonS » November 14th, 2020, 5:03 pm

Has anyone successfully upgraded to version 5.7 of RowPro?

I tried today. It has turned my single user licence into a 30 day trial licence, and the software only opens about 50% of the time. Seems even worse than previous versions. I was upgrading as previous version had a graphic issue and kept crashing.

What a disaster this product is.

The software is highly hardware dependent.

Up until a few years ago until it went 64bit only I was running it flawlessly on a 2006 Pentium 4 until it started having issues.

The biggest problem now is the constant Windows 10 updates.

You basically need the latest wiz bang gaming rig if you want no problems at all. The lower the spec your setup the more problems you have.

You need a decent video card. Don't be fooled by what the graphics look like that would be underestimating the requirements.

Running version 5.5.1 no point upgrading until they revolutionize the graphics. My advice is to stick with what works until it doesn't and your forced to update.

I wouldn't even try running it on a Mac.

I think the complete failure of RowPro to gain a decent user base is in part due to you needing to be tech savvy on the hardware setup.

Stop spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt. Microsoft don't have a problem with constant updates with their exceptionally stable OS.

Any problems you are seeing are with the RowPro application.

I was running 5.5.1 but it kept crashing & disconnecting me from online sessions.

I heard back from Row Pro who sent me a new activation code and it seems to work now. Fingers crossed that I can do some online rows without getting kicked out!

I am using RP 5,6 on my laptop and have no issues. The only problem was if the screen goes to sleep I get dropped. Simple fix was to adjust windows sleep settings. The sessions have been fun and there are plenty of participants. I have not tried 5.7 yet so I will wait to see how others do with it based on this string

Sadly version 5.7 does not resolve my issue and Rowpro continues to intermittently shut down and boot me out.

Awaiting response from digital rowing :'(
