Hi All,
I've been happily using ErgData (Android) with my Model D and PM5 for a few years now and am quite used to it's connection quirks with Bluetooth, but since I updated my PM5 to V169 at the weekend, I can no longer get the ErgData and the PM5 to stay connected for longer than about a second. They just continually connect/disconnect. I noticed my phone starts to get pretty warm whilst this is happening too. I've not had this before with previous firmware.
So, a couple of questions:-
1. Has anyone else experienced the same issue with V169?
2. Is it possible to revert the firmware on the PM5 to the previous level? (assuming I can get hold of a copy somehow)
Thanks

Re: ErgData connection issues since PM5 V169 firmware update
Updated instructions for Android phones experiencing difficult connecting with ErgData to PM5 v169:
1. Go to Settings (on your phone)
2. Select Connections
3. Turn Bluetooth off
4. Return to Settings
5. Select 'Apps'
6. Select 'System Apps' (you may need to choose from the menu in the top right corner)
7. Select 'Bluetooth' from the list of applications
8. Select 'Storage'
9. Select 'Clear Data'
10. Go Back
11. Restart the phone
12. Go to Settings (on your phone)
13. Select Connections
14. Turn Bluetooth on
Restart the Ergdata app and attempt to connect again
If the above fails to resolve the connection issue:
1. Close the ErgData app
2. Put the PM5 into Connect screen
3. Use the Bluetooth phone settings to pair with the PM5
4. Unpair the PM5 from my Bluetooth phone settings
Restart the Ergdata app and attempt to connect again
Apparently some phones don't clear the Bluetooth data as expected, and the pairing/unpairing process does.

Re: ErgData connection issues since PM5 V169 firmware update [SOLVED]
[SOLUTION]
By the time I got chance to view the thread, I'd managed to solve the issue, and basically arrived at the same solution as the 2nd one posted by mlyon above.
Here's what I did in case it helps anyone else...
1. Make sure ErgData is NOT running
2. Press a button on the PM5 so the display lights up, and wait until you see the Bluetooth icon
3. Go to Bluetooth in the Android settings and pair Android with the PM5
4. Once they are paired, then still in the Android settings "forget" the PM5 device
5. Now fire up ErgData and connect as normal.
I should also have said my phone is Nokia 8 running Android 9
As I said in my original post, I've been using ErgData on Android with the PM5 happily (almost) for a few years now, and am quite used to the switching on/off of Bluetooth and letting ErgData enable it and many of the other tricks that have to be employed from time to time, but this particular issue was a new one to me. The fact that it coincided with my upgrading the firmware made me think that something had been broken, but all's well that ends well.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Re: ErgData connection issues since PM5 V169 firmware update
Thanks for the confirmation of the resolution. We have just confirmed this ourselves.
In my post from October 6th (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=191431) there is an explanation of the Bluetooth changes in the PM5 that necessitated the process you followed. Unfortunately, not all Android phones seem to comply with the Bluetooth standard for handling "service changed" notifications. In contrast, all iPhones have worked seamlessly with the changes.
