2 logbook accts sharing same rower?

Post by brandon_w_miller » July 18th, 2020, 1:41 am

Hello everyone, I am extremely new here.

Well, the day has finally come, and I will be getting my brand new model D this coming Wednesday on the 22nd. I have one question (so far).

My wife and I will have separate Concept 2 logbook accounts and using our own ErgData apps on our own phones. My question is, if we are using the same Concept 2 rower, but using different accounts, will that work? Will the app be able to upload my data to my account and her data to her account without mixing them up? I'm not sure out the PM5 works.

I do apologize for the terribly green question. But I truly do appreciate the help and advice. Thank you guys.

Welcome Brandon.

It sounds like you've got the right setup needed to track your workouts separately. The PM5 can only connect to one phone at a time anyway, so that will make sure that whoever is using the rower with a connected ErgData app will be getting the tracking of the workout into the right logbook.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and good luck with the start of a long and productive training journey!

Dave

Cool! Thank you for letting me know. Now I just sit and wait until Wednesday to start logging. Thank you for the help!

Actually much easier now with the PM5. It will link to your own phone and ergdata keeping the accounts separate. I recently upgraded from a PM3 and this was an issue with family members logging onto the proper log card in the PM.

The only minor issue we have doing as you describe is that sometimes the PM5 will not connect to our phone as it thinks its still connected to the other one.. not often but it does happen.

Don't you just need to turn off Bluetooth on the phone when you're finished? I have to manually connect it every time I use it so it doesn't automatically do it

I just shut down ergdata on the phone. We always have to select the C2 to connect to but usually we don't have to go through the "connect" step on the PM5 C2 brought that change in some time ago to stop ergdata connection to a nearby erg in gyms... an older version connected automatically

Why aren't folks just pressing [BACK] [BACK] [BACK] [BACK] on the PM5 when they're done? Press it four times and the PM5 will power down (and BTLE on it will be turned off).
