RP intervals question

Post by Bob S. » February 18th, 2012, 1:44 pm

When I set up an intervals session on the PM, I can set the work periods for times or distances and the rest periods for times. When I try to set one up on RP, it seems that if the work period is for distance, the rest period must also be for distance or just stop. Is there some way to setup something like 8X500m r 4' ? In other words, how can I have the work period set for distance and the rest period set for time? The way that I have to do it now is to use distance for both and guess what would be about the right distance to get the rest time that I want.

Just use stop and a timer for the rest period. My watch is set up for timed intervals to do this for me. Don't pull that first stroke when coming to the end of any active interval or it will carry you right into the next interval without any time for a rest.

Thanks for the suggestions and, especially the warning. It would be very disconcerting to find yourself launched immediately into the next work interval with no rest.

I was hoping that there was someway to duplicate what the PM does so that I would have a record of the rest meters, since I am using active rests, but, evidently, that is not available with RP.
