Computer screen

Post by n1lul » February 26th, 2009, 12:10 am

I searched for this (really!) and could not find the answer.

Hi all,

I will be getting my Model D next week (YEA!!) and the first accessory plan to get is RowPro.

Where do you all set up the computer screen? Do you use a laptop and keep it on a stool next to the erg?

I feel the right answer will be for me to try some different set-ups, but I thought I would get some ideas while I troll the boards waiting for my new buddy.

I NEVER knew that there was such a cool indoor rowing community.

Thanks

I connect the laptop to a 31" television that is on a table next to the erg.

Others have been more sophisticated in their setup:

A lot of good stuff gets posted on both the US and UK forums so you should belong to both...I still don't understand why they are seperate.

When I do my usual morning training row I hook it up to my 15" computer monitor about eight feet away- I generally have the TV on as well- I need to glace to my right to see the monitor.

When I try a ranking row or go for a PB, I hook up RowPro on my 70" monitor directly across from the rower.

Till now I have been using a 15" laptop on a stool next to the erg. But it feels awkward and the screen is still too small. When I get to install windows on my imac 24" on a table in front of the erg matters will hopefully become better!

Thanks,

I never thought of looking across the pond. That is a good forum also.

Cool! Is that hard to do? What do you need to do to hook a laptop up to a TV screen?

Your tv needs to be capable of accepting a VGA input. Many of the new flat panel tv's do, but older CRT tv's don't.
