Hello- I have done my first workouts and so far I really like it more than I thought I would.
I hear of a "speed ring" what is it- what does it do and can I make or buy one?
Thanks and Be Blessed-paul

It is a plastic piece that goes around the damper window to lower the drag.
Do a search and you will find a reference.
They are cheep to buy but also easy to make.

I have a model B, and made a speed ring, I used 3.5 inches of cardboard and duct taped it to the out side perimeter. It dropped my drag factor from 180 to 90 with the damper fully closed. With the damper open, dropped from 260 to 160 drag factor.

Check out the thread "how to lower drag factor" on the Indoor Rowers forum. It talks all about the Model B modifications and comparisons with later models. I built a speed ring out of masonite pegboard material and attached it with nylon zip ties (a little more elegant than duct tape
)
