Hi all,
I have really poor circulation and I can't feel my hands when I'm on the water. They hurt and burn so much that I have really poor control over the blade.
I am LOATHED to succumb to buying pogies!
Any other ideas on how to keep my hands ward (or toes, for that matter!)?
Best,
x

Is this "Raynaud's Phenomenon"? A quick google of that should get you some answers about keeping your extremities warm. C2JonW

Try some of those air activated hand and toe warmers, see warmers.com. The toes are easy, they stick to your socks inside shoes, but I'm not sure how the hand warmers would work while you are gripping an oar. Maybe you could stuff those somewhere to use between pieces.

Maybe you could place the hand warmers against the insides of your wrists, where the veins are closest to the skin, and hold them there with wrist bands. You are not supposed to put the handwarmers in direct contact with your skin, so wrap them in cloth or something.
