After I started rowing pretty much exclusively as my exersize, I have been having the odd ankelpain. Not bad at all, and never related to rowing. I might be getting it during the day, or when I walk my son to school. Never even close to a issue, just a tiny amount of discomfort that will disaperar again during the night, and I never payed much attention to it. It's almost always on my left ankel. But last sunday when I woke up, my right ankel was very painfull, to the point where it was really hard and painfull to walk on it, and it caused me to walk with a limp all day. I did some walking, and at the end of the day it was really painfull even when I was just resting my foot. I had a full day of rest the day before, so this was aleast a day since my last rowing session. The pain quickly went away, and I was back to rowing again on thursday. It's now been a week and a half since, and I have been rowing a few times. Problem is, the ankel is now slightly painfull, and rowing does seem to worsen things. I did a couple of sessions on a elliptical trainer my wife uses, and I'm getting no discomfort from that.
It's alot better, not really painfull but more a discomfort that reminds me that my ankel is not 100%. I'm not really sure if this comes from rowing or could be caused by other things, but currently rowing is my only exersize aside from a fair amount of walk to and from stuff. Does anyone else have any experience with ankel issues with rowing? I'm worried I might have to take a couple of weeks of from rowing, something I dont really want as I'm trying hard to improve, but I completely ruined my achiles heels on not listening to my body trying to tell me something was wrong when I was running, and dont much want to repeat that.
Attached a photo of where my pain/discomfort is located.
