1st million meters...whats next?

Post by chud » September 5th, 2008, 8:02 am

Hello!

This is my first posting so apologies if its in the wrong place.

After what's seemed like years and a couple of set backs like getting married and then being laid up after a car crash I have just notched up my first million meters :D

The good news is that i'm now getting back into rowing again and feel a lot fitter, thinner and healthier in general so it must be good for me.

I've never been much of a sprinter so my 2k and 5k times are pretty poor (not that I've tried an all out one in over a year) though I'm not sure what I should really be aiming for as an asthmatic short arse? (I'm 39, male, 5' 8" and 74kg)

My technique isn't particularly good though to me it seems much better than the 'fitness instructors' in my local gym who I've asked for advice and some of the other gym members who come and go for 5 minute frantic thrashings while I sit there for hours.

Anyway I'm looking for some inspiration, suggestions, advice or anything else you fancy telling me - any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Cheers
Tony

Next should be to make it good! That is the most important.
Video tape your self and post it and ask for comments. Do this as often as you can.
I'm still working on technique both on the water and off and I've been at this a while.
