I was rowing on my Model B daily up until 2 years ago. I had to stop because a steel plate had to be placed into my right wrist. Then just about the time the wrist had healed, I had to have my back operated on. The nice surgeon installed two X-Stops in the small of my back. That was a year ago. And because of the back operation I had pretty much decided that my rowing days had come to an end, so I sold my Model B. Well, now everything seems to have healed and I started looking for another Model B. I placed an ad on Craig's List in the hopes that someone was using theirs as a clothes hanger and wanted to get rid of it. Then yesterday I got an email from a young lady working in a Rehab facility who asked me if I was still looking for a rower. I said yes. She said I have one that we want to get rid of, but we're asking $450.00 for it. I asked if it was a Model B several times, but she never answered. Anyhow, I went to their facility and there sat an almost brand new Model E. I said where's the Model B. She said that's the rower we're selling. Do you want it? I have never loaded anything faster into my SUV. I paid the young lady and ran like hell.

Now, all I have to do is figure out how this thing works.

i have just payed £1.110 pounds for a new one in the uk,plus on ebay they are still going for £800 pounds second hand. ps did you burn rubber driving out the gate.

Thanks guys for the welcome back. Yes, I did move it when I left their facility. But even though it was a super deal, I like the Model B better. There is too much stuff to mess with. I just want the basic information. I don't need to have graphs and racing boats to motivate me. Although this is much, much quieter than the Model B, it doesn't seem to have the feel that the older ones had. Maybe it's because I like to think of myself as an old viking stroking his way across the Atlantic when I'm rowing.

Old vikings didn't have the the benefit of medical plates and X-Stops. Bionic vikings use model E's.

Yikes, that's one great deal. I was beside myself to get an unused Model D for $500 so I can imagine how you must feel.

I'll bet that it would be easy to find someone who was willing to trade their old model B for your "almost new" Model E! I've got a D with only about 4.5 MM on it. I'll trade you, but it has a PM4, so the same bells and whistles as your E. My wife would like the E because it is higher, and she has trouble getting on and off the D.

Well, after a couple of weeks of trying the Model E I found someone that Really had a use for it. It seems this young man is on a rowing team and had just graduated from high school. It is now headed for college and was looking for a Model E. His mom found a Model B in super shape and we worked out a deal. So, this young man has his Model E, I have the Model B and am happy as a clam.

Bionic or not I still think there is a better feel to the Model B than the Model E. I'm able to get more of my legs into the stroke and the times reflect that, as well. I know there are a lot of folks out there that want the Model D or E, but to me, the Model B is awful tough to top. So, here I am, stroking along like the bionic viking I imagine myself to be. Rough seas and a heavy wind makes me feel like storming a castle. And yes, my horned helmet does have a wee bit of corosion on it.
