UK C2 Forum - The Way Forward.

There is a lot of problems on the UK Forum, Do you think we should start up an Independent Indoor Rowing Forum?

I think we should set up a new one with the exact same layout as the C2 one.
I really like the C2 forum but we need reliability.

Having a reasonably well read diary on the UK forum I don't think I would want to start from scratch on the USA forum. If the UK forum disappeared I suspect within a few months I might have stopped rowing. RowPro software and inter activity is good but the forum is not that good and not very active.

A site similar to C2s UK site might be good and I am sure Darren or whoever hosted/maintained it could earn reasonable money from advertising revenues

Shut it down and just keep the web page open for product & event news, purchases & race results. I certainly wouldn't miss the forum.

Seems to me that people are getting tired of both forums (UK & US). The activity is nothing like it used to be about 5 years a go when forums were relatively new and happenning places to be. Now their both full of the same old recycled crap.

The actual percentage of C2 erg users that actively use a forum is tiny anyway. They looked at starting a forum here in Oz but the interest just wasn't there. Furthermore, there are other means of keeping a log book (Rowpro is just one example).

Unless you're a propeller head, get your head OUT of the computer. Spend your time doing something more constructive.

P.S. Reducing your browsing time is kind of like trying to loose weight. It's a struggle and requires lots of will power.

The result of that was that Concept2.com.au have a link to the UK forum on their website (hence why we get some traffic in the UK from the Aussies and Kiwis).

Well volunteered, John. You can run it.

I wouldn't want to (because of the pain and bitching when it goes wrong).

Lets fix what we've got.

Starting a new one would be a nightmare... for some one... and we'd always find something to moan about :D

At the present time it is the UK forum that keeps going kablooie. Several times in the past though it was this one that was always getting hacked, and somtimes worse. At those times it was the UK forum that saved our overwhelming need to post things.

It's always good to keep a backup system. That is, keep both forums. B)

The big problem for C2 UK is that when the site is down the shop doesn't work, and that's bad for business. I believe the forum generate business for them, but without the shop working that's not a lot of good.

Does the forum cause, or contribute, to the website going down? If so someone at C2 UK needs to make the decision and move / close the forum. Can they just put the forum on another server or something so that it's not connected to the main website? Only good for them if the forum does contribute to the website crashing.

I like the motivation of posting my training in a diary, and feeling like you are "reporting" to people, so wouldn't like to lose that.
